Big Mountain snow loads and second homes that sit empty half the year.

Whitefish asks more of a roof than almost anywhere else we work. The snow comes heavier and it sits longer, and a lot of these houses are empty for weeks at a time — nobody is there to notice an ice dam forming.

That combination is why we push snow retention hard here, and why we would rather fix the ventilation during a re-roof than sell you heat cable afterwards.

We have done condo roofs on Big Mountain and lake houses down on the water, and the two are different jobs with the same underlying discipline.
