Further west, higher, and winter arrives earlier.

Marion sits west along Highway 2 and it gets a longer, colder winter than Kalispell does. Snow sits on a roof here well after the valley floor has cleared.

That makes ventilation and snow management less of a refinement and more of the whole job. A roof that performs fine in town can struggle out here.

We do get out this far — it is worth asking rather than assuming we do not.
