Architectural shingle is where most Montana roofs land, and there is no shame in that. A quality shingle roof, properly installed with the right underlayment and ventilation, will give you twenty-five to thirty years.
Most shingle roofs that fail early do not fail because of the shingle. They fail at the valleys, the penetrations and the ventilation — the same places a metal roof fails. We detail a shingle roof with the same discipline we bring to a standing seam system.
If shingle is the smarter call for what you are trying to do, we will tell you that, even though metal is the bigger job.
